In My Relationship With Jesus

In this message about moving beyond good intentions to a meaningful relationship with Jesus. We will be reminded that anyone in Christ is a new creation- the old is gone and the new is here. Pastor Bill talks about social media, Hollywood, and the realities we allow to dictate who we are, what we believe, and who drives us rather than being in Christ. We are faced with the question of whether we allow our heart to be our guide or if we let Christ lead us in every part and aspect of your life. Jesus is what sustains life yet often we think that we can sustain our own life with our own independence. When we think we can be independent, despite wanting Jesus blessings, we recognize the detachment of these ideas. While we may “make it” for a while separated from Jesus we can fully realize that without Jesus there is nothing to give us life. We are reminded that we can’t ask for Jesus’ blessings and grace only when it is convenient. We don’t want to be detached from the very thing that drives life. What we are in and what we are connected to is where life comes from and complicating this idea isn’t going to “bear much fruit!” Jesus will take care of us if we ask and position our heart and lives to be in Him. The more you try to be “in you” or live the life of the flesh but you eventually will miss the life sustaining, love, joy, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and hope are poured out upon us!
